The Castoffs came over to my house and we were happy to see Mary back from Arizona. She had a wonderful time and was sporting a wonderful tan. Damn. We would just like two days in a row of sunshine. Maybe this month.
The only consolation is that now her tan will start to fade in the great frozen North. Great while it lasts though. Mary squeezed in some knitting between hikes and visiting with Larissa, the mother-to-be. I think they also stopped in Denver to see Rebecca, the other mother-to-be. Those needles will be flying now, won’t they Mary?
I had baked some cranberry-orange muffins and frosted them with orange creme frosting. They were pretty yummy, if I do say so myself. Add some Gardettos and wine and you’ve got a party.
Julie was finishing up the leg-warmer – well the first one – for Terra. Zipper is attached and it looks so Terra. I know she’ll love them.
Julie also finished her donation for the ‘Loud in the Library’ basket that we are putting together. I loved these house slippers! They are thick and warm and NO felting! Might need that pattern, Jules.
Francy was still working on her skinny scarf. “Oh, don’t take a picture of this, you’ve got several already!” But, Francy, you’re so photogenic I can’t resist! No matter what you’re knitting.
I am working on the front of my cabled vest – it’s an easy pattern that looks harder than it really is. So soothing. I hopefully will finish it soon, because I’ve promised to outsource my knitting skills to two friends – promised to knit a cowl and an afghan. Both pretty quick. I love the process of knitting so much.
Deb was having an issue with her lilac vest. I tried to assist her in joining the round after she had bound off the sleeves, but I quickly found that I had an issue with the instructions. I think she figured it out – sorry, Deb, that I wasn’t more help. That’s what happens when Michele and Leslie aren’t here. We have to send in the third-string quarterback!
Marylane brought her front-crossover shawl. Beautiful. She modeled it for us and really worked it on the runway. We LIKE it, Marylane.
We missed quite a few of our Castoffs – Leslie, Michele, Linda, Carol – but we hope to see them next week at Leslie’s house. Until then, enjoy the sunshine – oh, it’s gone already – and, uh, the rain. And keep those needles blazing, Castoffs, until we meet again!
