Our final meeting in Woodland Park was on a beautiful sunny day. It was cool, but we enjoyed the tail end of summer. Not a lot of knitting went on, but that was okay because we have a long, cold, dark winter ahead of us. Ugh – I’m making myself depressed.
Back to the sunny day. Julie brought her top-down cardigan that is getting close to being finished. All she needs to do is to pick up stitches for the sleeves and, I think, for the edging. It’s going to be so pretty.
Mary showed us the little top that she’s knitting for Aurora. It’s like the last one that she knit, but she decided to lengthen the shoulder straps. Good idea, because Aurora is growing fast.
This is going to be a very short blog. The five of us sat in the sun (well, I have to sit in the shade because I’m such a delicate flower) and talked and laughed and looked at pattern books that Julie brought and, generally, enjoyed the final days of summer.
Deb joined us and gave us the news that our new meeting place will be available next week. Goodbye to the park, sunshine and goose poop. Hello to a cozy, leather-chaired, fireplaced nook. Ahh. We won’t have to worry about Plan B if it rains.
Next week, Castoffs, we get serious about Fall and Winter knitting and about Christmas presents. I’ve got a slug of them to work on before the first of December. How about you? Get those needles blazing, Castoffs, and I’ll see you indoors for the shorter days.
